Default Question on Batteries

I am new to this electric cart stuff.

I have a 2003 EZGO PDS cart. I charged it fully over night, charger did turn off. Drove 2 blocks to the course. Played 18 holes and drove the 2 blocks back home.

The cart has a digital veritical state of charge meter. There are 10 marks or lights on the gauge and when finished the the gauge was on the 5th mark or light.

Is this normal? I know I should have read voltages with volt meter before and after. I will do that tomorrow when I play another 18.

BTW the batteries are supposed to be 15 months old. The dates were never punched on the tags. They are CarQuest batteries.

Thanks for help on this.

Get those voltage readings, and, next time you drive those 2 blocks check the rear hubs for any heat.

If you drove all that, including the 18 holes, that sounds perfectly right to me!

Don't forget to check water on batts.

Sounds like 1/2 voltage after all that. Seems normal to me

I might add that there are 10 lights on the meter. It was on the fifth from the top. So I assume that is about 60% chanrge left.

4 blocks and 1 round of golf and the pack is spent? Doesn't seem right to me. I thought they were designed for 2-3 rounds between charges....

When I was in the GC Biz, we pretty much expected 36 holes per charge. I guess I really don't understand what the question is then? I'm still a firm believer in discharge testing, but I know 99% of people don't have access to the machine I'm remember ing the earlier thread asking about CarQuest batteries? I was really just commenting on that it was good that they made 18 hole with some juice left over...
