battery acid "sloshing" out

Is it normal for my batteries to be "wet" from acid coming out the vented caps? It seems every time I check under the seat, my batteries are wet. Trojan T-105 batteries.
This is an off-road buggie, so it will see bumps and bounces. How can I prevent this from happening? I am sure I don't want to close up the vents

Are there "taller" vents that would help with this?

You may want to check and make sure there is not too much water (electrolyte) in the battery(s). The water level should be just above the plates. It may be as simple as you have too much water in them.

If so get an old turkey baster and remove the water down to just above the plates.

Is this happening when your driving or when you charge the batteries?

Older batteries also "sweat", especially during charging. Make sure you don't have too much water in them and just monitor to when when you get the most fluid in them - driving or charging

To charge batteries properly:

First make sure you have about 1/4 inch of DISTILLED water above the plates. If you need to add more only put enough to cover the plates about 1/4 inch.
THEN Fully charge the pack. After the pack is fully charged then you can fill the batteries to the correct level. This will help keep your batteries from boiling over and acid getting all over the place.

More than likely your charger is boiling the water out.

Def. NOT being boiled out. I had to replace the battery tray when I bought the cart last month, and when everything was apart, I wash and cleaned up the batteries. After riding all day, before charging, I noticed the problem. I have since made a mental not to wash off and drive to check it.

I will check the level when I get home to make sure it is not overfilled. I bet the place I bought it from over-filled it.
