solenoid is hot for no reason, just sitting
i replaced all my wires with #4 and the cart ran great for a couple of days, after sitting for a few days i took it for a spin and i could tell something was wrong, so i parked it and put it on charge and drove it and it ran fine so i thought it was fine. but today i came home and was checking around and touched the soleniod for some reason and it was hot, like it was stuck draining my batteries. can this happen? and if i replace the it does it need to be a heavy duty solenoid. i have a 1988 ezgo with a lift and 10" tires. thanks.

Was your key "ON"? And is your pedalbox micro switch operating correctly?

microswitch in the pedal box. it is what "starts" the electronics when you depress the pedal.
question - when you turn on the key, do you (or ever did) hear the solenoid click as you turned the key? |

OK - sounds like the micro is good. Now, what changed from the new wires from the old wires? Something must be crossed?

Was the cart on the charger when you came home, or had it been unplugged all day?

Unplugged all day and I went and checked something, where the key goes in, there are 2 prongs on the back of it and one of them is loose (i can wiggle it). does that matter?
