Default 4 Batteries, 24V System? Ezgo Old Three Wheeler

There are four batteries, The charger output is 24volts.. Does this mean each battery is 6 volt or could each be 12 volt?

I made a little diagram of the batteries (How they are wired.. Thanks)

Some of the older parts pickers were 24 volt systems

By the diagram, they look to be wired in series which means 6 volts batteries.

These aren't screamers! They are designed for inside warehouse driving - parts picking...

What are you comparing the 'speed' to?

It only goes like 8 miles an hour (The guy i bought it said its as half as fast as it used to go, as if there are two parts to a control box some where, and one is burnt out..)

Ugh, Help!
