How do I remove the key switch panel?
I've tried searching with no luck. Trying to install a dash cover but cant remove the key panel, and lost my instructions. Are those rivets at the bottom corners? Dont wanna break anything. 2000 TXT

If the rivets are still factory plastic you can push the centers through and release the panel. If they are metal, drill them out carefully with a 3/8's bit.

Re: How do I remove the key switch panel?
3/8 is correct. The idea is to drill away the center of the outer ring of the rivet. The outer ring is what pulls the layers together tightly. Eliminate this ability and the rivet fails to do it's job and the layers separate. Use too small of a bit and you will just drill out the center core, leaving a still working rivet behind.

Re: How do I remove the key switch panel?
Gornoman is correct. I saw that yesterday when removing the front panel on my cart. I drilled it like a "POP RIVET", then yes the 1/8 would be correct, but if it's the type that I have on my cart, it's 3 prongs that spread on the back side of the rivet, and needs to be one like Gornoman said. You don't drill all the way through like you would a pop rivet.

They pushed right out. Now I have to paint the plate cause it looks like hell on that new dash. One thing leads to another. Can I reuse those rivets. I was able to get them on with some convincing, but will they hold?

Re: How do I remove the key switch panel?
Just a little mor info on rivets guys, I have found that a stepped drill bit "like a Unibit" works awsome for removing rivets because it doesn't grab like a drill bit and spin the rivet. Just a heads up for further use.

I have always wanted to purchase one of those, M66. What is a good brand name and what should I expect to pay for one?
