Hi Bryan,

How about an ultra crude hand-made diagram..

Good luck with the install.

You can sort this out with a common multimeter set to the OHMS scale. Turn the key to the first notch and start touching the multimeter probes to the switch terminals. As soon as you get a reading, those two terminals are for the solenoid control circuit wires you removed from the old switch. Polarity is not an issue as the switch is simply a make/break unit. The other two terminals would be used for the light circuit and will show a reading only when the switch is keyed to the second position.

Assuming it's for an EZ-Go, the two switches are independent. Make sure they are, as one is for 36 or 48 volt and the other is for 12 volt. Not that it won't work, but easiest to keep them separate, or polarity will become important.

To add to my post above, if the switches are not independent, which they probably are with four poles, polarity and potential are both important. If you're tapping two batteries for 12 volts, the pack negative (or positive) has to be the same for the pack as for the 12 volts. If your using a reducer, it needs to have a "remote" wire, that activates it by 36 or 48 volts, but not a power wire, if that makes sense. Power to a reducer can exceed the switch rating.

I need some help if you don't mind. I have a 2001 Workhorse 800 gas and when I got it all the wires were disconnected from the key switch. The list of wires and their connections are :
Red-fuel gauge
Green-gas pedal
Blue-solenoid
Blue/white stripe-unknown
Blue/white stripe-also unknown

I cannot figure out the proper connections. I would greatly appreciate any guidance.

I installed a similar switch on my cart. I don't think I had a wiring diagram either. The switch turns clockwise. Farthest left position is everthing off. Turn the key to the second position. This is for cart power on. Using a volt meter check each terminal for continuity between two terminals. Those will be for cart power (36v or 48v). The other two will be for lights 12v in and 12v out. Turn the key to the far right position and check for continuity with those. BTW, I wired my lights directly from two center batteries (both the pos and neg)in the pack and used an inline fuse.
