Where do I start? 1996 EZGO
I just bought a 1996 EZGO Electric. The batteries in it were shot, so I put new batteries in it & had a local dealer go through it and check everything out. They said I had some rat knawed wires, but everything else looked fine.
We have ridden it probably 4-5 hours over the last week, when today my kids were out riding it and it quit. When you step on the pedal, the solenoid clicks, but nothing happens. Where do I start? Please be very specific as this is my first cart. Thanks! Last edited by TFSole; 10-03-2009 at 05:31 PM.. Reason: More info |

Re: Where do I start? 1999 EZGO
Start by looking over all your connections, control and battery wires. Chances are that there may be more 'rat damage' elsewhere

F/R wires all OK? You have a volt meter? Sounds like either a controller issue or maybe one of the wires on the motor is burned off? Did you check there?

Re: Where do I start? 1999 EZGO
Take it back to the shop that worked on it. Maybe they overlooked something? I've had carts like this in my shop before where there is wiring damage - let's just say it's hard to be 100% if everything has been repaired. Without knowing what all was reoaired, it's hard to guess.

The manuf code is D2596 if that helps.
I was told it was a 1999 model....does that code match a 1999? |

Here are some pictures....does anyone see anything wrong?
What other pictures could I post that may be helpful in identifying the problem? |

What do I check on the motor? I don't think you realize the depth of my ignorance. I have decent mechanical know how, but know nothing about golf carts. |

What should I test with the meter? Does everything in the pictures look ok? |
