Re: Batteries Gurggling
5.8? That's pretty low. How long have they been sitting? Batteries "boil" a little while being charged...

About three years without a charge on them.

Re: Batteries Gurggling
Were they dry? Or was the acid level still good before you started reviving?

Re: Batteries Gurggling
Then you are wasting your time. If they were nearly dry and have been sitting for 3 years, it's time for a new set...

Re: Batteries Gurggling
Saftey issues? Don't really know that - but just make sure they don't get too hot, explode or start a fire in your garage! Don't waste too much time trying to get them back to normal - I doubt if it's going to happen...

Re: Batteries Gurggling
Uh oh! Hi, new member here with a question about batteries.
If I give them an individual charge for 24hrs each on a 6V trickle charger, what charge should they get up to? Reason I ask is I also got a cart from a buddy with Trojan T-105's in it that were dry and hadn't been charged for some time. I know the cart was low use, and the plates looked "clean" through the caps - it just hadn't been maintained for some time. Thanks, Scott |
