High Speed Gear Vs. Alltrax Controller
I am thinking about installing a High Speed gear Set on my 05 series E-Z-GO. I have a few questions and I hope someone can help guide me.
1. With the new gear set they say I will get 50% more speed. What happens to the torque? I take mine in the woods as well as around the lake so I want it to be able to do both functions well. 2. With the new gears installed can I still install a Alltrax Controller. I have read that some controllers are not compatable with high speed gears. If I can install the new controller then it should also give me 50% more speed. Am I thinking correctly here? Thanks. |

Re: High Speed Gear Vs. Alltrax Controller
When you gain speed with gearing or tire size changes you loose torque.... torque is what you need for crawling around in the woods or hill climbs. ....

Re: High Speed Gear Vs. Alltrax Controller
High speed gears on a lifted cart are not a good match. If you do, then you will have to spend some serious cash to get your torque back - i.e. controller, motor, HD solenoid, HD F/R, wire upgrade and more...
Unfortunately, with electric carts "MOST" of the time you have to choose between speed or torque, UNLESS you plan on dumping thousands into the above items... |
