Yes, you can convert it. Not sure of all the details but many have done this. I think the motors are the same, maybe someone else can chime in thats done it.

Re: Can DCS become a non DCS
DCS motors are shunt wound and non-DCS motors are series wound. They are not the same motor.
If you want to change your cart from DCS to series, you will need to change the motor, controller and add a series style FNR switch. |

Re: Can DCS become a non DCS
Thanks Doug. I wasn't sure about how they built those. I know they only made them a few years. It must not have been a very good system.
I don't think anyone like to mess with those carts cause lots convert them over. Are the throttles the same? |

Re: Can DCS become a non DCS
Yes, the early model DCS was only made for a few years and was a little trouble prone, especially with controllers. As you know they were replaced with the PDS which was much better.
I think from about 1994 and up the throttle assemblies on all EZGO's are ITS, so I guess the answer to your question is yes it's the same throttle. |

Re: Can DCS become a non DCS
converted my 98 txt dcs to series and upgraded to a speed/torque combo w/ big controller, heavy duty fnr switch, 4 ga cables AND flipped to 48volt..better hold on !! price for everything was a bit over $2000
