Default 05 Ezgo Pds Overheating?

Using cart as a hunting buggy on hunting lease. Most of driving is on old logging roads @ low speed due to rough terrain.
Cart just stops, but after few minutes continues on. I been told my stock controller is over heating and will eventually burn up due to SLOW SPEED use.
I was told by BU Tech Support that golf carts were not designed for low speed use and not any thing I could do would eliminate this problem. Surely there is at least somehting I can do to better this problem.
What proven options do I have to better this problem? I can upgrade if needed

I agree with SB on upgrading, however the cart is doing what it is supposed to. If you are using it mostly for hunting, you might want to consider finding a series cart; think these will work better for you. Good Luck!

IMO Stay far, far away from anyone who tells you this.

Stock PDS controllers don't work well with larger tires...the controllers just won't hold up. You will have to upgrade. 4 gauge alone might help a little but your just prolonging the inevitable. Get a 300 amp Alltrax controller and 4 gauge cable and you will be set.....although a larger controller with a high torque motor would be best for low end power.

dcx 400 amp alltrax and 4 ghauge cables will solve your troubles.

Check our online website, we've got some great pricing on controllers there...

What #4 cables are you talking about replacing.
Mike,
Do you offer a motor/controller kit. Will I need a new s.switch?

I think I know the answer as I am about to do the same thing. I will also add I will be buying it from Mike as he has been very helpful. Upgrade to 4ga cables throughout. these are the cables from the batteries to the controller, solenoid and motor. pds carts do not need a switch upgrade b/c it actually happens in the controller. general opinion seems to be a motor upgrade is not needed. I'm no expert but I have asked many of the same questions lately.

putman - All the battery, motor and solenoid / controller cables to 4 gauge. You don't need a new motor - Just a controller. But if you insist on spending money that you don't need to spend, then I'll be happy to make suggestions Seriously, your motor just needs the correct controller for your application...

Thanks for the DVR. It's been my pleasure talking with you.

dont know controller,s work any speed sound,s like you might need to replace your solonoid see if that work,s if you have fwd-rev switch on series cart check it to these are thing,s that cause controller failure as it will shut down at high temp to protect itself heck its got a brain to !!!
