Default 98 year model or ??

Well, I finally gave up on my 88 G2 Big Block build. It's just a p.i.t. butt to find parts so, I went out the other day and bought a used Ez-Go electric.

The seller advertised it as a 2004 but, after getting it home and checking the VIN and model number, Ez_Go factory told me it was a 98. I paid a pretty decent price for it and it's in great shape so, I'm not to pissed about the year.

I am curious though.... According to the factory it is a TXT / DCS / Freedom

I called AllTrax looking for a controller and the tech rep told me that I couldn't have a 98 with a tow/run switch on the controller cover and, a F/R lever on the seat front? Guy told me it was likely a Series motor?

Any body have ideas? Also, on a side note, the cart is suffering from the "Left front lean". I was thinking of adding another leaf spring all around the cart and, wondered if this can be done on the fronts as well.

Post a pic of the controller area. Things may have been changed out, like dash's and plastic.

Nice cart! It's an old style DCS cart that EZGO made from about 96 to 99. SEPEX motor not series. They were known for weak controllers. The Alltrax type you need for this is the stock NCX or performance DCX model.

Thanks for the compliments!

I'm really happy with it and, it was a great deal. The paint is nice, tires are like new (GoodYear Eagles) and the top and zip up sides are really sweet.

The stereo does not currently work but, I'm going to tackle that this weekend. I just noticed the dang thing doesn't even have speakers so, I'm thinking that may be the place to start...Lol

Have any of you got suggestions on my suspension question???

Older EZGO's have been known to sag a little on the LF. My suggestion would be to swap the R and L springs to see if it improves.

See....that's why I keep coming back here!

I never even thought of that. I am a moron

I'm kinda getting the bug to lift this thing.

I have a 6 inch kit that I bought for my G2, I also have a brand new set of tires and wheels that again, I got for the Yammy. Slim chance the lift will work but, are the bolt patterns on the wheels all the same?

I wondering if I can make my own lift kit. Seems that as there are just shackles on this EZGO that I might be able to fab something myself???

Thanks again to the members here for their input.
