Re: Alltrax axe programming
It should work fine right from the box. If you want to adjust the settings, you can program it later.

Re: Alltrax axe programming
Put it in and go. I put the same one in my cart recently when I went to 42v.
I was a little bit disappointed on how it(the cart) climbed hills so I called Damon ( Old friend and founder of Alltrax) and asked him him if the controller was set at 100% or some place lower. He said they are set at 100% power when they are shipped. He suggested the next step would be a better motor and he is a fan of D and D motors. I called them and on their recommendation I have their 1:1 motor coming. Jim |

Re: Alltrax axe programming
I was eventually going to upgrade to 48 volts. I do have an extra 6 volt battery in the barn. Its a pacer. Can I put it in and run off of 42 volts until I get my other battery. Could you tell a big difference when you put in the new motor??

Re: Alltrax axe programming
Yes , you can run 42v but you need a way to charge them. You can use your regular 36v charger for all but one in the string and get a 6v/12v charger to charge the single 6v. You will need to wire the key to 36v also for the solenoid but that is no problem.
My new motor is still on the brown truck enroute here. If the specs are any indication it should help. My stock motor is 2 hp at 36v. The Dand D 1:1 is rated at 7.3 hp at 36v. The D and D is rated to turn 3600 rpm on 36v and they said it would be 4200 on 42v. I told them I didn't need any more speed but they said although this is mainly a torque motor I would gain 2-3 mph.
