Default 01 EZ-GO PDS w/ Alltrax 400 and D&D Motor won't go! Please Help!!

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and have a question. So any information to help solve this problem will be a big help.

First off I tried to search and do as much research before posting. I didn't see anything like what I am experiencing so I decided to ask for help. If there is already a thread that solves this problem sorry.

I'd like to think I have a good sense around this type of stuff, but this is my first ELECTRIC, so please use layman's terms. :)

I have a 2001 EZ-GO PDS that I purchased about a month ago. It didn't run when I bought it from a dealer. The dealer told me he THOUGHT the controller was the problem, but there was no way to tell.

It is a 01 PDS with a Alltrax DCX400PDS w/ adapt. ITS controller, with a D&D Model ES-9B-50 motor. All the batteries seem to be good, meaning they hold a charge? I checked the voltage of the batteries after charging for about an hour and they read 37.2 volts. When I turn the key on with the PDS switch on RUN and put it in forward the controller turns on with 4 green flashes (for PDS model) then stays green. I hit the gas and solenoid clicks but nothing happens. Today I noticed that the motor tries to turn but seems to not have enough power. Meaning I can put my hand on the motor, hit the gas, and feel the motor try to turn. Then when I let off the accelerator I again feel the motor stop trying to turn. Also I tried to do the diagnostics, but I only got as far as to check the solenoid. When I tried to check the ITS it said to check a 6 pin connector, but I don't have a 6 pin on the Alltrax controller. I also noticed that the battery level indicator on the dash only reads half, even after I charged the batteries. I don't know if the indicator is bad or if something else may be causing that problem. I really need to figure this out ASAP for hunting season, so any input is greatly appreciated.

If you need anymore info about my cart or you need me to check something to help diagnose the problem let me know and I'll check it as soon as I can.

Thanks,
Mark

First check the battery pack voltage .... must be above 36v. Second a quick easy test is to make a drawing of the wires attached to the controller and then remove the controller and shake it.... if anything rattles around in it it is toast

Ok that I'll check that out asap.

UPDATE: I just got finished charging the batteries for about 3 hours and the voltage reads 38.1 volts and the battery level indicator shows full now.
I will check the controller and make sure nothing is rattling around, and keep you posted.

UPDATE:

I checked the voltage after the batteries had time to cool down and they were still at 37.6 volts, and the battery level indicator still shows full.
I took the controller out and shook it around and it didn't make any noise. I took the front, back, and top cover off to see if anything looked like it may be burnt. When I opened it up nothing looked burnt, no smell of burnt electronics.. but it was all covered in some kind of resin. Looks like its done from the factory. Anyway, installed it back in the cart and the same thing happens. I had the rear wheels off the ground to make sure it wasn't because there was weight on the cart and the wheels didn't even move.

Anyone else have any input or ideas to try?

How would I go about having it programmed? I don't have the cables, and I don't know if the dealer does that?

couple of questions.

does the cart roll? meaning can you push the cart, all 4 wheels on ground. If you can than the rear is not locked up.

Have you checked the wires on the motor? I have seen them get loose and cause all kinds of problems with the brushes/armature.

I would guess you have a bad motor since you say it tries to move. I have not used a D&D motor so i am not aware of their quality, but lots of people rave about them.

I put together a EZ-GO pds cart they did not set the ITS on the controller. The cart did move but realy slow. I would check the setting on the controller with your laptop first.
