Default OOOPS! electrical?

What did I do? Last night after a couple beers I was trying to put my charging port back into the body of my 2005 ezgo pds. the black terminal came out and touched the white and sparked and welded together! after seperating I tried to drive my cart but no go! I have power to my lights and radio but no forward or reverse. I tried to run a diagnostic but it didn't work. my battery charger won't even click on when I plug it in.

I'm getting a new 400amp Alltrax controller on Monday. What else do I need to replace to fix my mistake? Did I fry the solenoid or something else? Chasing the wires from the charging port back, I can't figure out why it won't charge?

Please help.

I'm hoping I just figued it out? Hopefully I only damaged my reed switch? Does anyone agree that after the arc welding incident my car won't charge, run, solenoid won't click and reverse alarm won't sound because I only fried my reed switch? this would be an easy fix to just bypass it.

Anyone agree? Does the reed swtich affect that much?

Is anyone around on Sunday?

1 - A blown reed switch will cause this.

2 - Stop drinking beers then working on your cart.

3 - You can bypass the switch until you're sure you have all the damage repaired...

Thanks Mikesmotorsports! Is there a good chance I broke something else? Chan from OcMonstercarts thought over the phone that I might just need to replace the solenoid?

I saw the diagram on bypassing the reed switch. I was really bummed that I did that! I was just putting the final touches on my garage project.

If that doesn't work what's my next step? could I have fried the controller and solenoid?

One other thing is when I push the pedal down the microswitch under the pedal clicks but the solenoid doesn't

Have you bypassed the reed switch yet?

Nope. At the fire station today so I can't work on it. I saw a diagram of how to do it on a different thread. I think mine looks like that one. I kinda remeber a red wire only coming directly off the a positive white wire. If thats the case it's already bypassed--I think.

I also remember a wire connection on that same small red wire about 6" from the plug recepticle.

I hope it's this. I'm so pissed that happened. stupid.

Mike, or anyone, if my reed switch is already bypassed where else should I look for damage? What could have fried that now won't allow:

1. A back up alarm.

2. The charger to come on.

3. No forward or reverse.

that red wire should have a black plastic on it, that is your reed switch. take the red wire and go directly to the red wire w/o that black unit. See if your cat moves.

Yes the reed switch controls the buzzer, fwd/rev and no solenoid action.

Default urgent help!!!!!

***! Just got home and opened up my charger recevier. Looks like the reed switch is already jumped. It's not there. The red wire comes off the main white positive wire and then there's a wire connector and the red wire continues on to the solenoid.

Whats my next step??
