Default Squeaky rear end

My 2003 EZGo has an irritating squeak coming from the left rear tire/axle area. I think this is a common problem because an EZGO at my local golf course was making the same noise. Does anyone know what causes it and what the fix is?

I would check the lug nuts to make sure they are tight. If its not that, check for a broken spring or a loose ubolt nut.

Jack it up.... pull the wheel off and turn the drum by hand. Is it brake noise?

I actually did that a couple weeks ago when I put my lift on. I had it on jack stands and slowly accelerated using the pedal. No noise.....

I think it's the leaf spring bushings..they do it all the time.

What you can do is take a 9/16..or 5/8 setup and jack it up and pull
the bushings out and see if they are nasty..etc..

Clean em up and maybe wipe it all down with some 30 wt. and
re-assemble.

There are four on the rear, and two midship.

Almost forgot..if they were replaced with aftermarket
bushings at any point, they will not have an insert
that keeps the metal from squeezing the
rubber, thereby causing the squeak.. when you go faster..it just causes it to
increase..cheeo cheep cheep ??

Talking Re: Squeaky rear end

I bet thats it! When I put my lift on I left one bushing out on the left side by accident. I thought that was what caused it but when I reinstalled the old one it still did it. Didnt think they wore out. I'll try your suggestion. Thanks!

oh come on griggs everything weres ou!! just think how many cans of liquid help has been consumed in those carts, how fast on what type of ground, and how heavy the golf bags and players are. then evey little bump, blah blah blah. the holes in the bushings may only be 1/2in, but they are only being sruuported by 1/4 or that. the top is only have the top at around 12 o clock and the bottom is at 6 oclock toward 9 0clock. the front rear bushing just ride on a pivot action. and then with the wonderful fla weather, the sand acting like sand paper in this case! its only time! it may be a stupid thought, but like csason saion, shoot some lube in them, if it goes away, you got it figures out! i dont know if they make a lubeable bushing, but theses may help in the long run. ui have seen people drill a hole though the middle of the leaf, bushing and the metal insert and put in a roll pin, so they can lube the pins.

When I'm looking for squeaks I use a can of WD-40 and do a section at a time until I find it, then address the repair solution.
