Default '95 fleet cart arcing at batt after wire motor swap

I seem to have a BAD arc when i try to attach the battery after a wire and motor swap. Weather it be + or - switch in neutral with the key off. Everything is wired according to the wires and the way i took them off except for the wires to the motor. The motor is a new D&D 4-1 or the one they use to call the Stealth Stalker. Thanks Mike

What diagrams are you trying to use? When in doubt, use the manual.

I dont know which one you are reffering to. Theres a few different ones. They all came from a manual and have been around for years and no one has had an issue like this come up unless they miswired it. I would use the one in the manual if you are uncertain. Take your time, check everything 2 or 3 times.
heres the manual that should cover you. http://products.jacobsen.com/img/manuals/28646.pdf

When i put the cart in forward A2 & S1 and S2 & B+ on the controller are connected. In Reverse A2 & S2 and S1 and B+ on the controller are connected. Can any one tell me if this is correct ?I rebuilt the FnR switch a couple years back and i might not have a b c d where they should be is what the D&D guy said. Thus throwing off everything. I should have cut the loom and zip ties and did it one at a time. If the D&D motor wasn't so heavy i would swap it out to rule out a motor problem. Mike

The F/R was my first thought earlier when you pm'ed me about it. I didn't know you had rebuilt it. It can be clocked wrong.

Verified the wires as compaired to another '95 fleet cart. Even with the motor wires disconnected the spark is still there and the Alltrax will flash 3times and stay green even with the key off. Is that normal ? I swapped to the old motor and the same thing. All the times i had the wires disconnected i never got that much of a spark before. Mike

Got it ! Chuck at Alltrax said the controller blinking with the key off and the pedal not pressed is an indication of voltage getting to the controller that shouldn't be.When i snugged down the solenoid connections the side to the battery spun just enough to touch the ring connector of the red wire to the controller. That was causing it to spark.

. Everything was wired right from the start.................well other than the touching i didn't see. Even when i looked at it it didn't look like it was touching. Thanks for all the help. Mike
