Question on 48v upgrade
If I add the two 6v batts in the bagwell and use a 12v charger do I wire them at the end of the pack so the ezgo charger will continue to charge the front six? After I purchase a 48v charger will I have to wire them in differently? Thanks

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
When you get the 48v charger only one charge wire will move. The heavy cables will stay the same.

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
You move the WHITE wire from the MAIN PACK POSITIVE upstream to the THIRD battery positive. Now the charge port only "sees" 36v, and the first 2 batteries in the string get charged with the 12v unit.

Nice pic Gorno.....let me ask you this. If I was planning on charging the last 2 batts (in the bagwell) with the 12v charger, why couldn't I just leave the white wire where its at? Will the powerwise charger not "see" the front six batts as 36v? |

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
The white wire is also the positive voltage reference for the control circuit via the Reed circuit. If you don't move the white wire it can't be done as far as I know. The batteries in the bagwell should be numbers 6 & 7 in the string, and your old #6 battery becomes your new #8 battery. The main pack negative is the eight battery.

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
I guess I am too dumb to understand plain english, Gorno could you or someone post a wiring diagram showing what you mean? I have same chargers as you smartcharger and powerwise and am thinking about the upgrade as well. Thanks

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
I never did put this mod to paper. I understood the existing circuits and just modified them to suit my needs. Some day I will draw it out and post it.

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
Thanks Gorno....One more question. If I decide to go ahead and purchase a 48v charger, do I still wire the two in the bagwell as 6 & 7 and leave the white wire alone? Thanks again.
