Default Changing batteries on older EZ Go

I inherited an older cart, approx 84-85 model, most likely Marathon. I am getting ready to put new batteries in it (36 V) and am curious about one thing. I have worked on newer cart at the course I volunteer at and all of them have tow switches that we put into Tow before working on the batteries. Obviously, this cart of mine has no Tow switch. Any precautions I should take so I don't burn up any of the electronics of the cart.

Thanks,

Lee Roy

Got the new batteries, cables were OK, everything cleaned, primed, painted, batteries installed. Runs great now at the course. Actually pretty sure it is a Medalist body style, no serial #, but motor says remanufactured by EZ-GO. Have buddies that have similar body styles and they are from the late 70's to mid 80's. BYW, thanks for the help.
