Question EZGO 1206sx Controller Replacement info

Hi guys I am New here. I have a ezgo cart with a 1206sx controller It just burnt up its 3rd controller it goes through one every 1.5 to 2 years. Is there a more economical controller that I can replace the stock one with I think I paid 450 for this one a little over a year ago. I'm not sure on the model of cart name plate says F299 / 1421177 I know its a 1206sx controller it has the run tow switch on the cover I believe it has a 5 pin connector, and two male spade connectors off to the side.
Thanks
Jon

I believe you can go to an Alltrax controller for your cart, it think it is the DCX series, you can call Alltrax and talk to chuck about your controller, he will recommend the correct controller for your cart. Hope this helps.

Yes, you have a DCS cart, and can use a DCX series from Alltrax. It should be the last one you need to buy. Is your cart lifted with large tires?

And, Welcome to BGW!

Thanks for the info might have to try that controller. No it does not have big tires but it does haul about 500lbs of tools i use it at my work to go from one line to another. I'm sure some will cringe hearing it hauls tools. But that is what i use it for and it does good except for the controller issue.
Thanks Again
Jon

Smitty, FYI, I have heard more than once about weak battery packs taking out the stock Curtis controllers in DCS carts. What kinda shape is your pack in?

With hauling that kind of load around all of the time, I think some 4 guage wires are in order, it will help with the performance of the cart, even though you are not looking for speed performance. It would allow the motor and controller to work better, IMO.

Thanks again guys for your quick responses. The battery packs were just changed 2 months ago. I checked them yesterday when the controller broke, and they were al reading above 6 volts. 37.8 total and the load test on the individual battery's was good. I will upgrade the wires when I put the new controller in.

I had controller problems when I bought my cart. Found this company Nusource on the internet that rebuilds controllers. I sent mine to them, they have same day turnaround. I shipped mine on a monday they got it on wednesday and shipped it out same day. I got it back on Friday. Great service. After putting it back in the cart ran sporaticlly and than died. I called them back and they said that if I shipped it back they would repair again and let me know what might be causing the problem. They called me when it came in and said it was the same problem and that i needed to replace the solenoid. They repaired and paid return shipping for no charge. After replacing solenoid and getting controller back cart runs great.

They have a .pdf file of repair costs and for your it is $89.00 and you will have to pay return shipping. On mine was I think $7.00 UPS Ground.

Company website is www.nusourceinc.net
Phone number is 1 (800) 521-5467

Maybe if you use them they can tell you what is causing your problem.

Hope this helps, Bryan

Thumbs up Re: EZGO 1206sx Controller Replacement info

Sorry it took so long to reply thanks brian I will definately ship my old controller to nusource and see what they say thanks for the link and info. I bought an Alltrax controller but it never hurts to have a backup especially for under 100 dollars thanks again.
