what is the diameter of 2 gauge and 4 gauge battery wire?

Its hard to say because some manufacturers use different amounts of insulation on the cable. Some cheaper manufacturers (china) even gauge their sizes by the insulation so its really not the size its supposed to be. Good quality 4 gauge is generally about 3/8 inch.
