Changing Perf Option on an 03 PDS

Hey guys, new guy here with a question.

I have an 03 EZ-GO with a PDS controller. It is currently totally stock and set up from the factory with Performance Option 2 (Steep Hill).

I just want to change it to the Perf Option 4 (Freedom), to dial back the compression braking and get the speed up from 13 MPH to 18 MPH or so.

My question is: can I just rewire the J-2 (option) plug from the Option 2 configuration to the Option 4 configuration, or do I have to buy the Red Option 4 plug and swap it out?

I know that you can do it - but if it were me - I would spend the $10 and buy the plug.

Taking the cover off of the controller is the hardest part of the deal. Make sure you have a 4" socket extension.

The whole deal should take you all of 4 minutes. If you stop to drink a beer in the process.

LOL!!!! Those two screws on the bottom are a pain to get too.
