Default 88 brakes?

i need to know how many sets of brake shoes are needed for a 88 ez go.
i found some dealers say 8(for whole cart) and some say 4.
i am confused. any help greatly appreciated. thanks

One set is four shoes. Two on each rear wheel. No brakes on the front.

I'm just gonna throw this out there because I've seen it first hand.

Before you order shoes for that I'd take one side apart and VERIFY the shoe type. There is typically a letter and number stamped in to the steel backing plate on each shoe. I believe it will be either J10 or J17. This will assure you order the right shoe. I've seen that era cart with both types. Whether it was from EZGO or not I couldn't say. Just what I've seen.

Good advise.....I have a '88, but someone changed out the rearend with a '77. My first shoes didn't fit.
