Default Electric ezgo motor removal

I am trying to remove the electric motor. I removed the four bolts, but it is not coming off. Is there a pin or something holding it in there. Is it just stuck? What is it? Does anyone know what RPM these motors turn?

What cart is it? Model? Year? Why is the motor coming off? There are no 'pins', it's probably just stuck on the input shaft. If it doesn't HAVE to come off, then don't try it. If you are replacing the motor, then you may have to slide off the outer case, then take a cutting torch to the armature. Happens here all the time - some come off, some are stubborn...

I will try to break it loose. I am trying to turn it into a gas cart. I am wondering if I can build a chain driven sproket to fit where the electric motor is and hook it to a 200cc honda out of a four wheeler? But I am not sure of the ratio for the gears. How many RPM's will it have to turn?

I don't think I can get the rpms out of the motor. Think I will replace the rear end.

I thought mine was stuck too but a few "gentle" taps with a 5lb sledge did the trick. Just not too hard as to tear up the splines.

Ezgoin..I'm having the same problem with my 85 marathon. Think the shaft broke or spline stripped. Can't see any bolts, ect.Looks like it just sets on the housing? I hate to beat it up too bad. If i have any luck i'll let you know. Any help would be appreciated.

It typically better to start a new thread rather than resurrecting one that is going on three years old.

Does the motor mount in front of the rear axle, or sit sideways above it.

Rest assured that it is mounted with bolts, they all are.
