Default 2 speed series motor from EMP

Has anyone used the 2 speed series motor from Electrical Motor Products (EMP)? Any input and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

They are a site sponsor and make a great product.

I have not heard anything negative about them and their customer service and willingness to help is one of their best assets.

If you want to know what the motor will do for you, give them a call.

We use them all the time and love them. I didn't know that they sold to the public direct?

I am not sure they do, just talked to them about their product, in consideration of a series motor type cart. Mike, when you use this motor does it also require a upgade of the controller?

No, not at all. You will want to upgrade all your cables to 4 gauge, though...

Thanks, So in your opinion this a good option to be able to get speed and torque out of a single cart? What speeds do you usually have them set the high and low at?

Depends if you add the 4 gauge wires, your batteries and the size and weight of the wheels. OUR setup is 16 - 18 mph in torque mode and 22 - 23 mph in high speed mode. Of course, these figures are with NEW Trojan batteries, Factory 4 gauge cables and the 2 speed kit...

Thanks again, so this would be your choice over using a PDS cart with an upgaded Alltrax 400 amp controller and 4 gauge wiring in a lifted cart with 22" tires for the hunting camp? The two mods are comparable in price. Just trying to make my final decision on what type cart to buy.

Either will do what you want. It's your choice. I feel that the Series with 2 speed is a better all around cart. If you want more performance later, drop in a new controller!
