First Log: New Controller
Here is a very quick log... can you all tell if something is off? Specifically, take a look at battery voltage at 100% throttle and output current... shouldn't the output be higher?

Re: First Log: New Controller
Your battery voltage seems a bit low at 0 throttle. 38.3 volts is too low. A 36 volt pack should be around 40-42 volts just sitting. Other than that everything looks ok.

Here is a log from someone on BU using the exact same controller...

Re: First Log: New Controller
The output is fine...it will only draw what you need. If you and your buddy go for a ride and log it the output amps will go up.
The controller only put out 220 or so amps because thats all the motor needed at the time. Go pull a steep hill and log it and you will see what I mean. |

Re: First Log: New Controller
Not claiming to be an expert here but just wanted to clarify the situation here to see if it will stimulate some others. If I understood some of your othe threads this controller is not on the carts listed in your signature but for a brand new (2007) cart you are working on? Thought I read on here that the batteries take several charges to reach maximum efficiciency.

Re: First Log: New Controller
No - this controller is in the 2002 PDS with the relatively new Trojans.
Pulling a steep hill - the amps went well past 500.... I spent almost an hour with Alltrax... basically - they said that all systems were basically a go - and that the speeds were good. I tuned it a bit to their specs... Torque is the big gain here... 1 person in the cart on flat ground versus stock with a chip will be almost the same... 2 people are a completely different story. I need to get some more wheel time on this. I'll tell you something though -I see 48 volts in my crosshairs! |
