I decided on a 2-3 year build of an old Marathon. Along with old meaning best have spare parts.
Here's the one I plan on building though not in my yard yet.

And here's another I have to pick up which is a trade for a black powder rifle (about $150)

Two in my yard that I paid $150 & $40 for.

The carts are 77, 79 ,80, & 81. The 81 is in the worst shape & stripping it down for basic parts.
The 4 wheeler needs a complete rear end which the $40 cart had.

My plan is using the 36 volt motor but setting up with eight 6 volt batteries adding the extra two in the bag well. 4 gauge wire throughout. Upgrade the FNR switch. 400 amp solenoid & controller.
I live on a hill with one lane sand roads so will do a simple 2" lift. Not sure if I will stay with the standard size tires.

That is the same rear end I started with. 36 volt motor on 48 volts will scoot right along. With what you have planned it will work good. But I must say..I am jelous of all the carts you have! Can never have too many. Good luck on your build and keep us posted with plenty of pics.

Thank you. Took some PMs to some knowledgeable people to set me right on what I needed to build & the parts required.

By time the 77 is rebuilt I should still have two complete 3wheelers for spare parts. But I will take the roof & framing off one of them for the build.

Well that answers why you can buy all those carts....You don't have one of those money depleting devices that god sent us men!

Game on. I go in the morning to get the one that I plan for the build. The $40 one I basically took apart using an angle grinder with cutting wheel. Won't be able to do it with this one.

I like metal rather then plastic or fiberglass which is why I chose an older Marathon.
Plus, why pay good money for a newer cart when you are planning to replace parts & upgrade anyhow. 4 gauge wire, upgraded FNR switch, upgraded solenoid, Alltrax 400 controller, & eight 6volt batteries. Yep, run this puppy on 48 volts & 400amps.

For now, not going to lift & use about standard size knobby tires. Neighbor has a 36volt Legend that just has upgraded 4 gauge cables & makes it up the hill so mine should do alittle better.
