reconditioned batteries?
New exide batts are $200 up here. I can get reconditioned 6V batts for $65 exchange. Anybody have experience with recon batteries? I want to sell my cart for under 2K. I've tried searching the subject with no results. Any way of testing the battery before buying?

Re: reconditioned batteries?
I had the same question yesterday and after a very experienced member gave me his opinion I just passed on $40ea blems and paid $75ea for new ones. If you were buying them to sell it or something it may be a option, but if you plan to keep it I would come off the bucks and be done with it.

Re: reconditioned batteries?
First of all ..... where can I get $200 for a battery!? I got a train load to sell....
I have experience with reconditioned batteries basically they are 1/2 the cost and 1/2 the service ..... makes sense for some people but not a selling point when a potential buyer asks about the age or condition of the batteries. You should get a 60 day warranty and about 2 yrs use. |

Re: reconditioned batteries?
If you need to get a cart running to sell? Buy them
If you are keeping the cart for yourself? Get new ones... |

Re: reconditioned batteries?
I would like to give the buyer a choice, but I aquired this cart not running, and I am assuming it was because the batts were dry and frozen(bulged out). So I still don't know if it will run

Re: reconditioned batteries?
What I meant was tell them that you used recon batteries to keep the price low. Mention your plan to the battery shop that IF the buyers want to upgrade to new batteries - see if he will allow more than a core charge on the batteries you are buying to get the cart running again, IF they want to pay for new ones
