Default How Can I tell if my cart has a 0-5k throttle??

I have a 90 Ez go marathon that has the stock Curtis controller in it. I am looking at upgrading to an alltrax 400. 2 questions, first how do I tell if i have the 0-5k throttle? Second, should I get the programable model or not? I am planning on 22" tires!!
Thanks!
Greg

Yes you do have a 0-5k potentiometer if your cart is stock. The controller question I leave to the experts. I don't think you will see a performance gain with a new controller.

iaefebs answered your first question. Now for the second, yes. The programing feature allows you to set different perimeters of how you want the cart to perform. You should realize a torque gain with the controller upgrade.

You can save money by using a pre-programmed controller. Most people do not need a programmable controller and the factory set up will give you all you need to see noticeable torque improvements! Don't forget the new 4g cables.

So after doing research I have come to the conclussion that I can either get a NPX 4844 400 amp which is not programmable, or a AXE 4844 which I can program for speed or torque? What do you guys recommend?? I am not looking to go super fast i just dont want to over work my set up with running the 22" tires!! Also I have all new 4ga cables ready to go in!!

If you are comfortable around computers then I would say get the programmable one, so that you can tune it to your liking. If you are not and just want the improvement then get the one programmed and you will be good to go.

I don't think that the average user is missing much if anything by not programming a controller. I have had programmables and non-programmables run side by side (GPS) and the results were minimal. This is my experience others opinions will vary.

Ev drives has the NPX4844 with fuse and shipping @ $290. Is that a good price? And what is considered a heavy duty solenoid 200 amp with 400 peak?
