Question about the Alltrax npx 4844???
The company that I am gonna order the 4844 from has the plug breaking option. My 97' TXT series cart has a 4 lug controller instead of 3 lugs. Do I need the plug breaking option? Here is a picture of my current controller.

Re: Question about the Alltrax npx 4844???
From Alltrax:
"Overview Plug braking, also referred to as dynamic braking, is a safe way to slow down a vehicle with a series motor when the motor direction is reversed. Without plug braking, if the operator reverses direction while the vehicle is in motion the armature will lock up. When the vehicle comes to a halt, then the motor will reverse direction. Reversing the current to the armature while moving causes the armature to lock up with violent and potentially dangerous consequences for the motor, controller and operator." Mine is a yes Vote. I am curious where you are buying your controller? |

Re: Question about the Alltrax npx 4844???
Best price I could find was Cloud Electric. $239.00 for the NPX 4844 +$29.00 for plug breaking. I wish I could find it cheaper.

Re: Question about the Alltrax npx 4844???
What is the advantage of the programmable?
I mean would your average golf car owner even use it or would it just be for those die hard golf car folks trying to squeeze all the performance they could out of something? |

Re: Question about the Alltrax npx 4844???
Average person will never need the program feature, especially if you just was a replacement controller and nothing else.
I don't know what the speed braking feature is? Never had that as an option on a non programmable before. That's a good price - ours is $21.04 more, but it includes the fuse. |
