Hey guys and gals, I have been searching and looking on this site for several days now. Long story short is that my mother aquired a golf cart from her sister. From my understanding is that it just stopped working. Anyways, I loaded it up on my trailer and hauled it to my house. I started playing around and tried to figure out the problem. Im still in the process of taking everything apart. My goal is to overhaul it and give it back to my mother in time for her birthday. On a side note im also looking for used body parts, well just he trim pieces. im also looking for a windshield (lost mine when i was transporting the cart). From what i learned on this site, i was able to tell that its a 1995 36v ezgo txt or medalist (im assuming if the body is metal that its a medalist?) The symptoms: Will not move at all. Reverse beeper works (while key is on or off) I do not hear a click from the solenoid batteries have a full charge key switch seems to be in working order. Any suggestions?

It's a Medalist. Have the batteries been charged? To start, I would remove clean and tighten all of the battery connections. Recharge the batteries and check the pack voltage, it should be 38.2v. If it's not 38.2v, check each battery, full charge should be 6.4v. Reverse beeper should not work with the key off, check the switch again, these are known problem items. Also check the microswitches on the F-N-R switch for adjustment, one of them is the reverse beeper.

i guess i forgot to mention. I did disconnect all the wires and took a wire brush to the terminals and cables. All are cleaned and tight. As for the FNR switch, i think i just found that today. Is that the switch the shifter rod goes to? and how do i adjust that? I also just found that pedal switch under the mat in the floor. Is there anything i need to check there? I did check the level of the battiers, i need to add some distilled water. Ill do that and stick it back on the charger and see what im getting for volts. Go easy, im new

Update: I topped off the battieries with distilled water and placed it back on the charger. I let it charge for an hour and the batteries are reading 6.1 to 6.6 volts. as a group its reading 39 volts. Still a no go for lauch though.

Put the charger on and let it charge until it shuts off, this could take up to 16 hours. Has the cart run at all since you picked it up? When did it last run? How old are the batteries? How long has it sat uncharged?

it was being used all the time and It was on the charger when i picked it up, according to my aunt. it just stopped working and that was around4 months ago. It has 6 trojans batteries that seem to be in decent shape. Replacing the batteries are on the list but not until I get the extra $$$.
