Re: Latest Cart Pics
As I understand it the GE D1161 is a speed motor and the D1162 is a torque motor. I was more interested in getting my speed up since the cart is street legal and I figured the 48 volt upgrade would provide me enough torque for my area. I took it in the woods yesterday to try to test torque.....I went through several 30 to 40 yard stretches of deep sand that would only be passable with a 4 wheel drive vehicle and it was no problem. After that I took it to a road construction site and climbed some mounds of dirt and had to reverse down as the angles got too steep and unsafe. My conclusion is that I have plenty of torque for my needs.Speed is 23 mph turbo off and 27 with turbo on so hopefully I have made the right choices on the new setup.....time will tell.

Re: Latest Cart Pics
Wilster.....I live an area of Florida and it is relatively flat terrain. My torque needs are usually of short duration. If I lived in a hilly or mountainous area I think I would choose the 1162 torque motor, especially for offroad use or hauling heavy loads and just take the hit on speed.
