Cart will not charge or run
Hey all,
Just started working on a 95 (probably) EZGO, with a powerwise charger (old also). The cart will turn on, when put in reverse the beep is heard, but when the accelerator pedal is pressed absolutely nothinh happens. When the charger is plugged into it nothing happens either, it won't turn on and no noise is heard. Tested all batteries, they read between 6.10 and 6.17v, with one at 6.26v according to this site that is about 60% charge correct? The total voltage at the charger terminal is 36.6v, which should be enough to activate the charger, but nothing happens. I think that 60% charge should give me some movement, but i'm not sure. Trying to diagnose whether its a problem with the cart or the charger. Thanks for any help! |

Re: Cart will not charge or run
Check battery connections first, don't just look at them, give them a tug. Non running non charging, broken wire first thing to check. Check main battery positive terminal, and check the charge receptacle wires that go to that post.

Re: Cart will not charge or run
Voltage where charger plugs in is 36.6v. all wires were taken off, cleaned, and put back on.
With that amount of voltage in the batteries should it be able to move at all? |

Re: Cart will not charge or run
Yes, although 36.3 is considered empty. (50% discharged)

Re: Cart will not charge or run
36.6v is about 55% charged. Check the voltage while you try and run the cart. What voltage does the pack drop down to?

Check the reed switch in the charger port? Can you hear a click under the floor when the gas peddle is pressed?

I don't know what the reed switch is but yes there is a slight click when the pedal is pressed, its very quite and it happens whether the cart is on or off.

Re: Cart will not charge or run
Charged the batteries by 2 with a car charger, charged them all up to 6.3-6.4v still nothing. I think the auto charger i have is toast, but there is also something wrong with the cart
