need 89 Marathon help
newb with a ?
I have a 89 marathon that will not engage in R from a stop. It will move if I Fred Flinstone it to get it rolling and then mash the gas pedal (works of flat ground). Any idea what this problem could be or where to start with troubleshooting? Thanks |

Re: need 89 Marathon help
Thanks for the welcome.
Runs great (well good as I'd expect) in F. Batteries are just turning a year old. I guess there is more of a story behind it. Short version, had some loose posts at the motor and cables got a little hot I guess from the bad connection. Had the motor posts fixed and since then it's not gone in R with out the Flinstone head start...which is what makes me think it's not the motor itself. So could the controller have fried the R function with the hot cable previously, is there a way to test that? Thanks |

Re: need 89 Marathon help
This 89 has a controller. From what I've heard there's a few out there from 89.
