Faulty Solenoid?
First time cart owner - looking for some assistance. Painter by trade can swap info regarding anything to do with refinishing.
Have a 1996 EZ-GO txt - the cart is not operating, have tried a voltage test across the solenoid, both large posts are reading same voltage as batteries. Is the solenoid defective? |

Re: Faulty Solenoid?
I turned the key and tow switch off put the volt meter black wire on the negative battery post and the red on post of battery side of solenoid i get same reading as battery charge. When i put on opposite post i still get a voltage reading, though about five volts less.

Re: Faulty Solenoid?
Disconnect 1 of the small wires from it. Do you still have continuity all the time? If so, it's welded shut ... Is the cart a DCS or PDS?

Re: Faulty Solenoid?
I have no continuity across the large posts. Would all this trouble have to do by chance with when checking the other day i found out that the pedal microswitch was broken? Thanks for the help... I have absolutely zero knowledge of carts . Oh it is a dcs

Re: Faulty Solenoid?
When U replaced the Micro Switch did u properly adjust the plunger. If not the controller is supposed to recieve a signal from the micro switch saying it is at Zero. If u have adjusted the micro switch properly it does sound like u may have a problem in the controller in addition to the Solenoid. I'm not a sparky it sounds very similar to my recent problem
