? About adhesive promotor!
Hey there! I am painting my cart next week! Its in the prepping stages right now! I was wondering about the adhesive promotor i am reading about! All i found at my local shop is plastic adhesive primer!!! Would this suffice? Its in a rattle can! Is that sufficiant enough?
Thanks ya'll! Pics to come next week or 2 on the paint process!!! |

Re: ? About adhesive promotor!
Is there a typo here somewhere? Are you wondering about an "adhesion" promoter? If yes, it's pretty much a must on plastic. Krylon Fusion paint has adhesion promoters built in. Otherwise, you need to prepare the surface by light etching, apply adhesion promoter, sand/prep, then apply base/finish. Probably a bunch of info here:

Go to your local automotive parts store and buy you some Bully Dog Adhesion Promoter. You can get it in spray cans or spray it out of your gun. It works really well. Are you using a base coat clear coat or a single stage paint? You paint store will have Bully Dog also, it is the best.

Bully Dog can be found at Autozone and O'Reilys Auto Parts, and yes you will have to use this.
