Rodney.....I'm not sure if many can help. I know one guy who had one apart a while back. Check out some of the resistors around the same general area. You may be able to make a very good guess. There may be more than just a resistor burnt but its worth a shot. I have fixed several just like that and they work fine, then theres the ones with other problems I couldn't identify.

Theres a topic in extreme DC where a member replaced some of his components that were burnt....not sure how or if it went well or not. Those SEPEX controllers are real sensitive and blow easy. I need to get one of those just for things like this.

oh yea, Welcome to BGW.

I used to know the resistor values by heart, but time has left me foggy. Plus, even if I did remember them, you can't read a value if you can't see the colors anymore. Without another identical board, or the factory schematics you don't have much to go on. I'll see what I can find.

Hey there Rodney, I just bought a cart with a curtis controller and they did virtually the same thing. Someone didn't hook up the battries backwards, but instead they were working on the charger and hooked the wires up reversed and plugged it in and heard a zap and it never moved again. I have found that the 3rd wire down on the connector [red with yellow tracer] that comes from the tow/run switch had burnt the connector so I'm assuming that there is a controller problem as I removed the wire from the plug harness and gave it the 48V that should go through that wire but still nothing. I am wondering whether to take apart the controller or what I need to do to troubleshoot the system. This is my first cart with this type of controller and I'm lost. The solenoid has been replaced as well as the charger repaired and the batteries are new. Any advise her would be greatly appreciated

I think you should have replaced the accompanying transistor. Then maybe it would have lasted.

That thread was over 8 years old. The Curtis PMC has replacement options today that cost less and perform so much better.
