Controller amperage
I have a curtis 1206 stock controller on a 2005 EZGO TXT PDS. How I can I tell what amperage rating it has?

Re: Controller amperage
It is either 275 or 300, can't remember, if you are going to lift your cart, you can go with a 400 amp alltrax.

Re: Controller amperage
It would be 300 or 350. Not sure about that year.

Re: Controller amperage
Thanks for the feed back, reason I ask is that my cart is lifted and so far no problems, I was hoping it was at least a 350 so it could get me by until I moved on with other modifications.

Re: Controller amperage
Start saving now to be safe.... a stock pds drive pushing big tires may give out at any time.... what color chip do you have in it? That will factor in to how well it lasts..

Re: Controller amperage
yellow chip, I dont care about speed, it goes 18-19 now. I like the torque because I hunt out of it.

Re: Controller amperage
Change to the blue chip ( steep hill) that will maximize your torque and minimize the possibility of trouble

Re: Controller amperage
Will do I already have one of those. I know you've answered this a thousand times Im sure, but is there a major difference in the 400 vs 500 amp. Because down the road I would like to do a motor swap?

Re: Controller amperage
This is right out of the back of the 2001 EZGO owners manual:
TXT PDS ELECTRIC - FLEET STANDARD EQUIPMENT: SPEED CONTROLLER Solid State, 350 Amp Capacity with Non-Contact Inductive Throttle Sensor MOTOR 36 VDC, Shunt Wound with Brazed Armature and Solid Copper Windings This is a surprise to me, I was always told they were 275 or 300 amps, now I wonder why an Alltrax 400 amp controller makes such a big difference, if it is only 50 amps more??? |
