Adding a Radio to an EZGO GOLF CART ISSUE
Hello,
What would cause a radio system in a golf cart to have static when you press the accelerator pedal? It is a marine cd player and 5.25 marine speakers. We have it wired to two batteries for 12 volts. |

I would ground the radio to the chassis like you would do on a car

Re: Adding a Radio to an EZGO GOLF CART ISSUE
My cart only throws static on AM stations. The FM and CD player work fine. I just don't listen to AM while driving around. Not much of a solution, but it works for me.

Re: Adding a Radio to an EZGO GOLF CART ISSUE
I have an Alltrax, but it still does it. Electronic controller regulate current via modulated pulses. An AM radio "hears" these pulses as static or interferes so much that reception is cutoff completely. In my case, I accept it. I don't think there IS a cure. Now if your static is on FM and CD as well, then you have noise coming across your power feed or speaker lines, and you would need to employ the same noise cancelling techniques as car stereo guys use.
