Default ball joint question?

I have a 2004 EZGO TXT. I noticed that the I have some play in my front wheels. if you grad the rim at 9 and 3 o'clock position and rock, it has play in the wheel. I can see the play in the sealed ball joints. the ball joints that keep the wheels aligned. is this normal? or should it be solid at all times. I removed the drivers side ball joint and can feel its not perfectly tight. Any input is appreciated.

Default Re: ball joint question?

they are not supposed to have play in them, but they are not perfectly tight either. I do replace tons of those units a year due to wear tho. especailly if the cart is off-roaded.
