Paint Help!! Just bought 2000 EZ Go Electric
Thanks for all of your post to this site.
I just bought a 2000 ez go electric cart. The current fiberglass is green. The body has some scratches on it that I want to fill. Here is what I want to do. I want to try to spray paint this cart with a can. I want to fill in the the scratches on the body of the cart. The body is still attached to the cart, but I have removed anything attached to the body. Questions What are the steps of getting the cart ready to paint? What type of filler/bondo should I use? What type of primer? Should I use a clear coat for the last step? What type of spray can paint should I buy? Walmart Type or Automotive and what type? I am new, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Trent |

Here you go. Just remember the adhesion promoter before you paint, use BullyDog rattle can from Autozone. Good luck!

Yep, good info in that thread. These guys walked me through the whole process. Take your time. That is coming from a guy with little to no patience. |

Re: Paint Help!! Just bought 2000 EZ Go Electric
i wet sanded an area on my cart today and taped around it and test painted 4 coats of kyrlon plastic black gloss. then half of the black with clear kyrlon gloss. after i was finished i took tape off to see the work and it didnt look bad at all. not as glossy as if a body shop did it, but for the price looked really nice.
the clear glossy and black glossy looked the best together vs the black glossy alone. think i may be ready in a week to sand whole thing |

Welcome to BGW, there is also what they call a sticky in the body and paint section on how to prep plastic bodies for paint. Seeing is how you're cart is a 2000 it is plastic so do not forget the adhesion promoter or the paint WILL NOT LAST. Good luck and happy painting. |
