Do EZGO brakes just suck?
I have two carts, both late models, an EZGO and a Club Car, my Club cart stops on a dime and can lock up the wheels. My EZGO just has a mush pedal and it takes a while to stop no matter how hard you depress the pedal. I bought new shoes from BU thinking they may be low. Took it apart and still had about 20% left. I changed the shoes anyways, and no change. The pedal is adjusted high and e brake works fine. Any suggestions or is this just the way this cart is going to drive?
Thanks |

Re: Do EZGO brakes just suck?
I have found they differ quite a bit from CC brakes. I am having to replace the bushings and return spring on mine for the lack of peddle return. Just seems like a pretty cheesy setup from the get go.

Hey, your lucky, I changed my pads and now I can't stop at all
Try adjusting the cable under the cart. The brake should start working when you push down an 1 to 1.5 inches. If you got big tires and rims, stopping is even worse. joe |

Ya, the cable is adjusted, just lousy stopping. I guess it's just normal. Thanks.

Re: Do EZGO brakes just suck?
Ouch! I've never had an issue with EZGO brakes - And I'm not just saying that because I'm a dealership. I was happy with the stock brakes on my Briggs cart that radars at 48 mph. Sounds like you need to properly adjust / clean to me...
BTW - EZGO and Yamaha use the same brake assemblies... |

Did you purchase OEM parts, or buy online at the cheapest vendor?

Re: Do EZGO brakes just suck?
Take some sand paper and rough the pads and the inside of the drums. I've never had an issue with their brakes. Sometimes on used carts they are weak and we do just what I described...
