here's a toughie for ya'll
A guy I work with gave me an 88 marathon, pretty rough shape but free. I found out why. the thing is broken in half. The only thing holdin it together is the floor pan. He just laughed and said well if anybody can fix it you can. now for the big question. Should I? the body is in pretty rough shape, the rheostat box is shot, the speed swiper is rusted to the point it won't even move when you step on the pedal. Is this thing even worth fixin? Or should I do it just for spite. I got an old melex 3 wheeler in better shape than this thing. Heck, 1 of the tires was flat and when i tried to pump it up IT HAD A HOLE RUSTED THROUGH THE RIM!!!!!!! Just goes to show you get what you pay for...LOL. any thoughts or ideas guys

Pics would help. Not so hard to fix the frame. Infact, might decide to stretch it & turn it into a limo.
Or you could just remove the motor & rear axle to sale & junk the rest. Your call. Ross |

I'd call the recycle place and see what they would give.. A few hundred lbs of steel is worth something even if it is rusted.

Unless you have the time, tools, & skills its not worth undertaking. But if you want a cart built the way YOU want it then it might be worth undertaking.

Re: here's a toughie for ya'll
doomsman, i'll mail ya the serial tag. I think i might just trash it. id need a tetnis shot just to work on it any way,i think it came from the beach. when my wife saw it the first time she said"you've got to be kiddding me". It would definitly be a learning experiance trying to fix it but i don't think i want to put the time or money in it.but like i told my wife i'm thinking LIMO....lol
