copper studs for FNR switch
Does anyone know where I can get replacement copper studs for a 2004 ezgo FNR switch? I have ordered the copper to make thicker bus bars, but a thread I read here said I should replace the studs also.
Thanks |

Re: copper studs for FNR switch
I too am looking for those. I checked my local (Conroe, TX) EZGO ( a very big shop with every part conceivable. The only way they would sell the studs was as part of an assembly either the movable half or the fixed half, but I would rather do it myself and I feel the studs themselves would be a less expensive way to go. Hopefully someone will advise a spot to buy them on line.

Have you guys tried the site sponsors? Give 'em a call, they don't list EVERYTHING on their websites.

Re: copper studs for FNR switch
I was going to make sure I need the studs before I order them. I haven't taken my switch off yet, but I plan to upgrade controller, etc., so I am going to go ahead and 'TRY' the upgrade myself on the FNR switch. I ordered the copper to make the buss bars yesterday, and if I need the studs, I will order them, and sure, I can hook you up with the studs and buss bars if you need them.
Thanks |

Keep me advised if you end up paying for 20 studs.

Re: copper studs for FNR switch
Took the switch off last night, tore it down today, studs seemed to look OK-very even, flat & shiny. I am going to try it without the studs this time (may regret it).
My copper came in and I made the buss bars today and installed them in the switch. Look at the difference in thickness-Picure 2. I did not cut the bushings 1/16" shorter, because I wasn't sure I could get them straight. Instead I added 4 thin washers with the nylon spacer to space the micro-switches out a little bit, so they would ride on the middle part of the cam. I think this will work, but I'll let you know when I reinstall it, hopefully tonight. These pictures are blurry, but if you look closely, you can see the washers between the micro-switches and the white nylon spacer. Pictures 3 & 4. Gornoman & dvmartin, let me know if you need the buss bars & washers.(better wait to see if the washer trick works) |
