Default 2006 EZ GO 48V DCS Electrical help troublrshooting

CART IS A PDS NOT DCS

I just purchased an ez go 48v pds that someone had a problem with the charger and they hooked up the wires backwards on the charger and plugged it in --so I'm told--and they heard an electrical arc sound and it has been dead ever since. It now has new batteries reading 50V total and a new solenoid but it still doesn't work. They also replaced the fuse and control board in the charger and they gave up on it.
Now for what Ive found out so far. The Battery indicator does not register and there is 50v and ground on it so I assume it's fried. I checked the run/tow switch and it is OK. What i did find is that the red/yellow tracer wire into the controller from the run switch that carries the 50v to the controller the input terminal got fried. I did plug it back in and had disconnected the wire and made a connection to get the voltage to the controller but no luck I need a troubleshooting guide to follow to test the controller before I jump into buying one. Has anyone ever had this happen before, or heard of it? Any help would be appreciated

Try replacing the diode?

I don't have a wiring diagram for this model and could you tell me where the diode is located?
