Wiring diagram for 3 position key switch
I am looking into installing a new key switch with the three positions to run headlights off of. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the stock Ezgo Txt that comes with the three position key switch? Or any simple diagrams that you know of?

Look in the stickies section, you can download the manual and there is a page within it that shows the wiring diagram, plus lots of other information.

I looked, still couldn't find specific wiring for the switch and all wires for it.

Re: Wiring diagram for 3 position key switch
In either diagram the terminals for headlights are labeled B1 and L. Connect your 12v positive to B1 and connect your positive from the headlight circuit to L. Make sure you install an inline fuse as close to the battery pack as is practical for the headlight circuit.

Re: Wiring diagram for 3 position key switch
Can headlights be wired to a non Ezgo key switch that has only three wires coming from the switch? Or does it have to have 4 terminals?

Re: Wiring diagram for 3 position key switch
No. The 3-wire/2-terminal stock switch has 36v across it. The optional 4-terminal switch actually contains two separate circuits, and they must be kept separate.

Re: Wiring diagram for 3 position key switch
So the only key switch that can be used to run headlights directly from switch is the Ezgo 3 position key switch?
I think I might just get a new 2 position key switch and run the headlights from a different switch to keep it simple. On my fuse block, it has: Orange/white wire- horn, whch I have Red wire- flasher/brake light, which I dont have Blue/white- light switch (part of key switch), I dont have this selection on key switch Could I trace the red wire and blue/white wires and use them for different accessories since I dont have lights? It does have the plugs for the single light bar, but I want to put in a different key switch and the separate headlights. I'm thinking I could run the red wire to a switch for the new headlights. Is this right? |
