Default Electric EZ-GO power increase

Looking for ways to increase the power on hills with my 1987 electric EZ-GO.

Upgrade the controller. Switch wires to 4GA or 2GA

No controller on 87 model.
Add voltage to your existing system (with caveats) or pay up for conversion to ESC.

If you are not using the cart for golfing, add a 12v battery (series connected) to the bagwell area to increase the total voltage to 48v. I added a contactor and a momentary switch to actuate the additional 12v so that I only use the 48v as a booster (for hills), not all the time.
I had already installed the 4ga wires throughout with no noticeable performance improvement. However, if anything (wires, solenoid) gets warm replace it with bigger!!
