1989 ezgo golfcart help please?????
I have a 1989 ez go golf cart , it has the old style speed coils and maybe the same motor. to get more speed and torque , I was told that I would have to convert the whole cart over to an Solid State Controller cart anyway ... whice means I have to replace the wiring, controller and motor how hard and expensive would this be and should I can anybody help me with deciding on what to do thanks for any input

How old are the batteries you have now?? you will need a controller $300- 400 --and a lot more things that will be talked about after some more info from you How much do you have to spend on the change, and what wil this cart be used for??? |

There are varying levels of upgrade but the basic conversion will cost about $1100 for controller, solenoid, charger, potentiometer,cables. In addition you will need 48v worth of batteries.

ok I will be using this cart for hunting and fishing .. the batteries need replacing for sure but I know the controller and motor upgrade what else goes along with the upgrade ?? cables? and what else thanks

Just what scottyb said -
do you have a motor now what volts is it??? 12V converter to run your lights and acc. charger--48v Controller-48V solenoid--48V F / R switch-48V potentiometer And I think you will be happy, and it will do what you want it to do |

you have to put all new stuff in the cart, so I would change it to 48V for it to do what you what it to do, and if you can get a used stock 36V motor and run it on 48V it will have more power for hunting
