Default 95 DCS came to a smoking stop.

I was running alone about 25mph when my cart began to slow down, Then it started clicking like a card in bicycle spokes. Started to to smell something burning, Lefted the seat and flipped the tow/run switch to tow and disconnected the battery cable. I think my Alltrax is toast. But what could have caused it?

Stock motor? My guess is Maybe the motor is spun? And took the controller out with it ..... saw one DCS do that last summer. Over rev the motor long enough and they just come apart.

Stock motor. Its been running fine until now. If the motor spun, wouldnt the rear end have locked up?

Test the motor for unwanted continuity between any A and any S terminal. The one I saw still rolled, I dunno ....
Maybe somebody else has a better explanation.... meanwhile can do that test?
