Controller upgrade?
What is my best option here guys for my 36 volt stock motor, series cart that has a 6" lift, and 22x10-10 All-Terrain Tires.
Want a little more speed, and not lose anything in the torque department for climbing hills, and other such terrains. Do I need a new 400 amp controller only? |

Re: Controller upgrade?
How old are the batteries? Converting to 48v will increase both torque & speed. If you want to also increase runtime just add an adiitional two 6v batteries & a 48v solenoid.

Re: Controller upgrade?
Then add two more 6v batteries to the bagwell & a 48v solenoid & you'll increase torque, speed, & runtime.
Have you upgraded to 4 gauge wires? Ross |

Re: Controller upgrade?
I would go with the 500 amp controller and add two more 6 volt batteries to your pack. You would be very happy.

So, the stock 36 volt motor will handle the 48 volts with just a solenoid? Then how do I charge the other two....wait...wait...wait... lol let me guess, I need to go out and buy a 48 volt charger also? Any other mods needed before that can all happen? |

Re: Controller upgrade?
You can add a 400a 36-48v controller for a noticeable improvement and upgrade to 48v later

Re: Controller upgrade?
You will need a 48 volt charger unless you charge 2 batteries will a 12 volt carger. I think I GPS with the 22" tires and it was around 23 mph. I cant remember, but that seems right. It was very noticeable going from 36 volts with a 500 amp controller to 48 volts with same controller. Motor will handle it fine. Also New Orleans YAT has a used 400 amp progamable Alltrax controller in the for sale section for a series cart. Thats what I would do unless you wanted a new controller.
